Second only to Sir Trev (and possibly Billy Bonds) in my fave WHU players I've seen play.

Second only to Sir Trev?

Have a word with yourself. Fantastic talent but he played 26 games for the club.

Re: Tevez 'satisfactory' in hospital after chest pains
Only 40! played a handful of games for us, yes he was Brilliant and one of the best to wear our shirt but legend????

Fucked of to ManU and then when he did have the opportunity to come back and was offered a massive wage that first season at the OS, he took the piss and asked for an even bigger pay cheque.

Wish him a speedy recovery, thanks for the memories but do me a favour about being a legend.

Re: THE STRUMMING OF HARRY
A world class footballer, no doubt, but saw playing in Europe as just business and about the money, never attached himself too closely to any club or its fans. made obscene amounts in China just before the bubble burst, so got lucky. As for his health, I'm sure he'll be alright.

What goose said.

I wish him well but club legend?

No more than a cult hero, wouldn't get near my top 10 legendary players for the club.

Re: THE STRUMMING OF HARRY
I don’t think Tevez as a West Ham player was a legend, but he was at the core for TWO legendary moments that season at West Ham….

1. The signing of two Argentinian World Cup Stars (I’ll never forget the WTF of what happened in that window).

2. The great escape.

Re: THE STRUMMING OF HARRY
Represents exactly the caliber we need to be treating as standard. Of course he’s a legend especially as it rankles with so many that he gave us that magic season

Re: THE STRUMMING OF HARRY
Imho anyone calling Tevez a legend is setting the bar very low.

The season he appeared for us was legendary though. The club got away, twice, with breaking the rules over player registration and the FA, who should have deducted us points, instead took the easy way out of levelling a fine of £5M.

I'm 100% with Len. He's not saying 'best' or 'biggest contribution', he said 'favourite'. For me, because of his standard and because of the time he played for us, he is easily one of my favourite ever players.

He was/is clearly and 'jobbing' footballer unless it's Boca - but that's ok. I honestly thnk he clicked with us more than the other teams he played for in Europe. Probably easier for that to happen in our situation than one of the big boys - seige mentality, trying to prove something and all that.

In footballing terms he should have been at one of the Spanish big boys - but we had him, and he was brilliant. He could have given up when things weren't working, but he didn't - he tried harder and harder and was fucking brilliant once it clicked (and before, just without the goals).

There have been few players I've enjoyed more in my 44 years of life. Loved him.

magic season?
we got humped that season by Reading 6-0, Bolton 4-0, Charlton 4-0, Sheff Utd 3-0. We got beat at home by fucking Watford.
Awful season that ended with an amazing run of form.

A cult hero maybe, but in no way is he a legend.
If you find yourself on the same side of a football debate with H&P then you know you're in the wrong.

fucking legend FFS.

Totally agree, OTB. Fantastic player for us.

Re: Tevez 'satisfactory' in hospital after chest pains
I especially love the way he obviously played for us for the satisfaction and went to Man U. for the money. Didn’t really follow his exploits there but I get the distinct impression he left the passion with us.

goose 1:07 Thu Apr 25
Re: Tevez 'satisfactory' in hospital after chest pains
I'm not sure you follow football at all.

He used us as a stepping stone to get a european team. We basically took him on loan from his agents and they gave us a player to put in the shop window.

Honestly Pickle, football isn't for you.
